The Struggle is Real --Purpose


Many struggle with the question of their purpose in life, with who they are meant to be.



1.  The heart of the matter
     For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God!
How vast is the sum of them!  --Psalm 139:12-17

You are significant.  Everyone wants to be valued.  You are not an accident.  Humans may make mistakes; God does not make mistakes.

      (On the abortion issue:  "If we cannot see the significance of the unborn child, we cannot possibly see our own significance.") 

 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.  I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.  --Jeremiah 29:11-14a

The key to purpose starts here: "Your purpose in life is tied directly to your identity in Christ."
      You are a child of God.  You exist for a purpose.

2.  The calling
         For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.  --Ephesians 2>10
         God has a call on everyone's life.  You need to say "yes" to God's call on your life.

We have a purpose to declare the praise of the God who brought us out of the darkness.

Ask of God His purpose for you today.  I have a unique calling.

3.  The framework
     Many believe (1) and (2) but have not built the framework for living a life of purpose.   
 The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters,
    but one who has insight draws them out.  Proverbs 20:5

We must live life on purpose,  Each step must be in the direction of God's purpose for our lives.

Too many people spend too much time running in the wrong direction,
putting the wrong things in their carts.

My takeaway:  We don't know the morrow but we are to be each day in a place where we can perceive the next step in God's plan for our lives.

It is never too late to start living your life in the right direction.

I am loved and valued of God.  You are loved and valued of God.
