Worry, Anxiety, Fear

Worry is an uneasiness that allows ones mind to dwell on the possibility of difficulties or troubles.

Fear is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something might cause harm.

Anxiety is a feeling of worry and dread in which the body is on constant state of alert, ready to flee or fight.

Anxiety can actually be crippling.  We struggle with this.  Trust in God.

Like the uncontrollable growth of kudzu  worry and anxiety, eat away our soul, take over our lives.

In the most intense moments of worry and anxiety, Jesus has the  audacity to say "Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will worry about itself."

Worry is actually a form of idolatry.  Building altars to things we think we can control.  We worship our weaknesses.

What Jesus is saying is, "I will give you the strength for the day, the strength you need when you need it."
In the face of your worry and anxiety Jesus will give you what you need when you need it.
Philippians 4:6,7  " Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

The Word of God should be our first stop on the road to healing.

The healing process
     1.  Confess to the Lord our worries and concerns.
     2.  Be grateful for what you have.
     3.  Insist on maintaining healthy thought patterns.

Trust in his promises.  He will give you peace  But we need to make ourselves available to His Peace.

Calm my heart, mind, and soul, Oh Lord.
