Someone said there was a World Series. Does anyone know who won? Does anyone know who the opponent was?
Vaguely recall that "World Series" might have something to do with baseball.

The world series is never as much fun if your team isn't involved. :(
We were wondering why some of our tv shows were repeats last week and my husband said - it must be some sports thing. Turns out he was right. Now I grant you we aren't sports people but usually we are at least lightly aware of the World Series...not this year. I guess whatever teams were involved they aren't popular on the East Coast.
Lin, truth indeed. One is always much more interested when it comes tournament time if his or her favorite team is "still in it."
Grace, someone told me St. Louis
won; I still don't know who they played. Haven't paid much attention to the Cards since the days of Stan Musial. How old am I? Update: Noon news says it was the Texas Rangers, which I thought was a law-enforcement agency.
