Memory

That time between Christmas and the new year seems to lend itself to nostalgic reflection.

Memory: Bob's Axiom 1

Memory permits us to enjoy the past without having to relive it.

It is much sweeter when you don't have to relive it.

I can talk about the past but it's all like it happened to someone else. Except for music - the music is still very much real and present.

Ugh. I am not enjoying the reflections on the past year. Lots of loss...too much so. Oh sure, there was lots of fun and good stuff in there too, but this end of the year stuff makes me think of the friends that I lost this year.

Happy New Year to you and JoAnn! We are heading to St. Louis to visit Colin and just enjoy each other's company. That's the part of holidays that I like.

Chuck, truth. Living it once is quite sufficient. Never understood those people who say, "If only I were (insert a previous age) again!"

Grace, it is good that you have appropriated the music. Keep singing!

Lin, fun and sadness alternate in our lives, but joy abides. May your New Year be filled with joy!
