Next-door neighbor left his garden hose reel between our houses, hose strung out twenty feet, still attached to the bib: left it there all winter. Hard winter it was, too. Surely a man, busy as he might be, could have found a few minutes to drain and roll up the hose before the big freeze. No. Surely his hose will burst, will leak in many places come Spring.
Nope. He turned the hose on the other day to water his new tree. Not a problem Not a leak.
One of life's little disappointments.
For me, I mean.
Oh, and taxes.

Ugh. Now if YOU left it out....different story, I'm sure. I'm convinced God looks out for these people.
Lin, that is no doubt the case. And I really don't wish my neighbor ill just because he's too busy to tend to minor chores.
It never worked for me like it did for you neighbor. Oh well . . .
Perhaps that's what kept the hose from having bad things happen to it...I would think leaving it flat rather than rolling it up would be better - but I don't know much about hoses.
Chuck, wouldn't work that way for me, either.
Grace, that might have helped, but some of the hose was still on the reel? He's a yuppie: probably buys better quality?
