"No!" Tildy stomped her foot when she said it.
"No what?" responded Herkimer.
"No, you cannot go out wearing that shirt with those slacks."
"I love this shirt. What's the matter with it?"
"It does not go with those trousers. The mix-and-match style is fine, but why must you persist in mix-and-mismatch?"
Herk has not been "ready" on his first attempt more than twice in eighteen years of marriage to Tildy.

Herk needs "Garanimals." Remember those? They were color co-ordinated clothing for kids that were coded by animals. You match the animal tag on the shirt with the tag on the pants. They have to match though. No putting gazelles with cheetahs. It's a recipe for disaster.
Hey...we are gonna be out in your 'hood Memorial Day weekend. We have a wedding and will be staying in the Rossville area. Thought we might see you for a quick minute if you are free. We will be in town on Friday, leaving Sunday.
Wives have their uses - especially in the sartorial department. Well some wives anyway. Not all women have good fashion sense just as not all men have poor fashion sense. Once I trained G on what looks best on him he easily made his own, very good choices and that was one less thing for me to do! (Of course I purchase every piece of clothing he owns, so really how could he go wrong LOL)
Lin, I do remember Garanimals though they came out after my kids were older. Well, except for the youngest, but mostly we clothed them at Penneys or by way of their mom's sewing machine.
We would love to see you next weekend! Will fit into your schedule. Well, except we don't do mornings. Lunch, coffee, or whatever.
Grace, it is true that fashion is not on my mind when I am dressing. In fact, the Spouse and I were just talking yesterday about the fact that some of the items in our wardrobe are so old they are back in style! (She does seem to want me to look "presentable" when we are out and about.)
