Multiply that

Multiple vehicles piled up in a crash on the Interstate this morning.  Multiple people were injured and transported to multiple hospitals.  Multiple law enforcement officers interviewed multiple witnesses who provided multiple stories varying in multiple details.

Multiple hospital spokespersons confirmed the treatment of multiple people for a multiple variety of injuries.

Newspeople:  Get a thesaurus, or count something, or something.

I never again want to hear "multiple" other than in a construction such as "35 is a multiple of seven."  And even there, just for variety, one might on occasion say "seven is a factor of 35."

The word basket must have been mostly empty. Multiple persons must have made multiple visits to extract multiple words for their multiple stories on multiple topics. I do apologize for that, but only a little bit.

It's funny how they leave out the details now. Especially the important ones. It's all sensationalism.
