Prudence

My physical therapist often told me, "Listen to your body!"

Today I was worrying a stump with an axe, ninety degrees, sunny.  After a time, not specified, my body clearly said, "One more whack with that axe and I WiLL kill you!"

The rest of the stump will still be there another day.

(I used to work eight+ hours on the job, go home and split wood for two hours before dinner.  "Used to" was a  wonderful stage in life, was it not?)

In some ways - some of us 'used to' do some not so great things!

Grace, yours truly included. Not all experiences are to be recalled with pride.

Sometimes I can use my body as an excuse to stop...that is...when I WANT to. I really get frustrated when my body demands that I stop when I really want to keep going.

Lin, I can only reiterate what my PT says, "Listen to your body."

Spending the day thinking about what needs to be done wears me out.

Vee, sometimes I am too tired to think at all!

I'm tired of listening to my darn body, it never tells me anything I want to hear anymore...

BumbleVee, I hear that. Too many of the messages are disturbing.
